Then touched he their eyes and said,

“According to your faith let it be done to you”;

and their sight was restored. Matthew 9:29-30a

       I love the way Jesus heals, don’t you? Sometimes He has some strange plans like dipping in the filthy Jordan River 7 times or how about when he mixed dirt thousands of feet had trampled on with spit and applied the clay to the blind man’s eyes? Yeah, that was a hygiene teacher’s nightmare. Then there are the times like this where His words recognize one’s faith and healing is granted. The woman with the issue of blood was healed before He even said a word. Faith: It’s all according to the faith.

       But faith does not always heal. I’ve seen this verse used in a hurtful way. A young woman born nearly blind and totally blind by the time she was 18 was told she must not have enough faith. She tried to remind this person of Paul’s thorn in the flesh but the hurt had already been done. Mom wasn’t healed this side of Heaven. Neither did she waste her time seeking after it or bemoaning her fate. She wrote songs of praise and worship and lived a life of faith. I think when she got Home, The Father thanked her for her jail ministry, her volunteer work and her faithfulness in praying for her wayward son.

        So, if you are struggling, do not be discouraged. Sometimes healing just waits for Heaven and your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior will get you There. According to the Word, all we are promised through Salvation is Heaven.
