As iron sharpens iron,

so one person sharpens another. Prov. 27:17

This Old House is in Texas after Hurricane Harvey (rerun). I watch as a bulldozer tears down what the hurricane didn't. The homeowner is documenting it on her tablet with tears in her eyes. Another home is spared total demolition but is in need of mold remediation.  Today it is Team Rubicon, a team of military vets who volunteer their time to help rebuild after disasters. As I was watching, I couldn't help but think about how we become a new creation in Christ. Sometimes our past needs to be totally eradicated and others, it just needs a good cleaning. Sometimes, even when we've been walking with the Lord for a while, some sin issue will need to be dealt with. That's where Proverbs 27:17 comes in. We need fellow believers to be our Team Rubicon in the hard times and to keep us from falling into disrepair again. The military vets who make up Team Rubicon do not do maintenance, so I'm taking a little liberty here when applying the concept of what they do to our spiritual life. The bottom line is, we as believers need a team to keep us sharp. Who's on your team?
